Delete your Shale account

In the app

• In Shale, open the Profile tab, then Settings.
• Tap Account, then Delete account at the bottom.
• If you want, download Copy of my data first; after the deletion this is no longer possible.
• Tap Delete account. We send a code to your sign-in address; enter it and confirm.

Until removal starts, you can withdraw the deletion on the sign-in screen.

Without the app

An account is deleted only in the app: the code to your sign-in address proves that the account is yours. If you no longer have the app, install Shale, sign in with your e-mail address and follow the steps above. If you write to us instead, we answer with these steps.

What is deleted and what stays

• Your account is hidden at once and signed out on every device.
• Your personal space and its modules, your memberships, sessions, devices and passkeys are deleted.
• If you are the only person managing an organisation, it needs a second manager first.
• Chat messages stay until the end of their retention (at most 365 days), with a pseudonym instead of your name.
• The security log stays 365 days, without your identifiers.
• Reports you made stay until 365 days after their decision, without a link to your account.
